Who does that?! Giant concrete ‘Patricia the pelican’ stolen from Galveston restaurant

GALVESTON, Texas – Have you seen Patricia the Pelican?

The owners of BLVD Seafood on Galveston are asking for your help trying to find the pelican, which was stolen from her perch outside the restaurant along Seawall Boulevard earlier this week.

In a post on Facebook, the restaurant made a plea for anyone with information to come forward.

“It just doesn’t make any sense to us why someone would come in and take our pelican,” said Andrew Payne, manager at BLVD Seafood.

The pelican, whose name is Patricia, according to management, went missing earlier this week.

Patricia is solid concrete and stands roughly three feet high. This makes her hundreds of pounds and likely a more than one-person job.

Andrew Payne: “At the end of the night, the manager that was working shoots a text out to me and the other manager and says, ‘Hey, the pelicans missing.’”

Gage Goulding: “Do you think you and I could easily pick it up and move it?”

Andrew Payne: “I don’t know about easily. I think we could do it, but we need a car nearby.”

The restaurant has cameras, but none pointed in the direction of the statue that has greeted customers for years.

“Bring it back. No questions asked. I’ll even buy them a drink,” said Paul Aiello.
