The family of missing Houston man Albert Figueroa is turning to the community for help as they continue their search to bring the 66-year-old home safely.
Albert was last seen in August 2023 near the Udlewood Apartments on West Bellfort Avenue, where he lived with his elderly mother. His sister, Mamie Williams, is urging the community to help bring him home, as their family struggles to cope with his unexplained disappearance.

āHeās not homeless,ā Mamie explained. āBut he has medical issues and can be a bit forgetful, especially after an incident where he fell off a ladder. He also experiences seizures on and off, and Iām worried about his condition.ā
Despite these challenges, Albert has always managed to find his way back home ā until now.
Albertās sudden disappearance has taken a toll on the entire family, especially their 87-year-old mother, who still holds out hope for her sonās return.
āMy mom feels like itās her fault, but itās not,ā Mamie shared. āShe just wants to know where he is. If heās passed on, we want to know so we can bury him properly. If heās still alive, we want to know where heās at so we can bring him home.ā
The family believes Albert may have been mistaken for a homeless person and taken by an organization that relocates individuals to other cities.
āHouston is Albertās home,ā Mamie explained. āThereās a group that picks up people who they think are homeless and takes them to San Antonio. They say theyāre helping, but what if he didnāt want to go? He didnāt have his ID or medicationāhe might not have been able to tell them who he was.ā
Mamie described her brother as a gentle soul who has never been a threat to anyone.
āHeās a good, nice guy,ā she said. āEven if he only had two or three dollars in his pocket, he would give it to someone else. I just donāt think he was in his right mind when he disappeared.ā
The last confirmed sighting of Albert was by a friend who saw him on a street corner in Houston. Since then, the family has been tirelessly searching, reaching out to local shelters, hospitals, and even detective agencies for any sign of him.
āWeāve been working with a detective with HPD, but there hasnāt been much progress,ā Mamie said. āIāve sent him every piece of information I could think of, told him who to talk to, but it just feels like Albertās become another number. Weāve even tried hiring private detectives, but weāre running out of options.ā

Mamie and her family worry about Albertās safety, especially since he doesnāt have any ID, phone, or access to his medications.
āItās so hard not knowing where he is or if heās okay,ā she said. āMy mom is devastated. Weāve already lost one brother, and now my little brother is missing too.ā
The family is pleading with anyone who might know something to come forward, no matter how small the detail.
āPlease let us know where heās at so we can bring him home,ā Mamie urged. āHeās a gentle soul, and we miss him so much.ā
