Traffic alert: North freeway construction causes weekend lane closures
A portion of the North Freeway is closed this morning and will remain shut down all weekend due to a construction project.
The northbound lanes are expected to reopen at 3 p.m. today. The southbound lanes will be closed from 4 p.m. today until 3 p.m. tomorrow.

All traffic will exit at the West Mount Houston/249 ramp, continue along the frontage road, and re-enter the main lanes at the entrance ramp before W Gulf Bank Rd.
Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes and plan for delays.
