In May 2019, then-20-year-old Jackson was randomly trying to get into homes on Knight Rd. in south Houston and rang the doorbell of legendary Houston rapper Bun B’s home. His wife opened the door and police say Jackson forced his way inside the home with a gun pointed at her head.
He then tried to rob the couple, and Bun B’s wife, Queenie, told him to take the Audi in the garage. Bun B, whose real name is Bernard Freeman, was upstairs but heard the commotion and grabbed his gun. His wife told him where Jackson was and during the confrontation, a gunfight ensued.
Jackson suffered a gunshot wound to his left shoulder, according to investigators, and was found at Pearland Medical Center, where he was taken into custody. He was charged with two counts of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon and burglary.

Bun B’s attorney, Charles Adams told KPRC 2 back in May 2019 that he hoped justice for Jackson would be swift.
“There are a lot of people that love Bun and hold him very dearly,” he said. “I wouldn’t want to be Demonte Jackson walking the streets. I hope he stays in jail, but if he doesn’t stay in jail, he might want to get out of Houston.”
Back in December 2019, Jackson pleaded guilty to the charges.
Sentencing began on Thursday around 9 a.m. and will continue on Friday.
