HOUSTON – Hundreds of Houston area residents are embarking upon day five of being without power after a deadly storm rocked our area Thursday evening.

Since then, temperatures have soared into the upper 90s, with some heat indexes hitting 100°.
Without the proper means of air conditioning, the Houston heat may become life-threatening unless you and your family find another way to cool down.
Some folks are catching a breeze by walking around local malls and stores, while others are depending on shelters and cooling centers to get by.
