SPRING, Texas – The heavy storms are testing a lot of Houston-area drivers’ patience Wednesday morning, proving today is not the day to play with Mother Nature.

Constable Deputies with Harris County Precinct 4 were called to at least two reports of fallen trees in the Spring area. However, that number has since increased.
The first report of a tree falling was shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, affecting the northbound lanes of Cypresswood Dr. and Maplegate.

The roads were closed until the tree could be removed.

The second was reported just miles away, but this one resulted in a crash on Birnam Wood and Tylergate Dr.

According to the Spring Fire Department, the tree fell just before 5 a.m., and responding firefighters helped get the driver out of his vehicle. Spring FD said on social media the driver was examined for minor injuries as well.
KPRC 2 later learned several other surrounding Spring neighborhoods have been impacted by trees crashing down, which are listed below:
- Hufsmith near Burroughs Park
- Rettendon Ct
- Hufsmith Road at Holderrieth
- TC Jester at Spring Cypress
- Gosling at West Rayford
- Telge Road at Grant Road
