KATY, Texas – A Katy woman’s charged with murder, accused of killing her husband’s nephew for overstaying his welcome.

Mei Huang Wolfe’s husband called 911 Thursday night to say his wife just shot his nephew during an argument at their home on Tesino River Circle just off W Grand Parkway. Deputy Justice of the Peace Judge Bob Wolfe is the husband of Wolfe, who serves in Harris County Precinct 5, Place 2.

Wolfe’s bond was set at $100,000 by a judge. Should she bond out, she will have to surrender her passport and stay within Texas and not have firearms or weapons of any kind.

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez says EMS tried to save the man but he died at the home.

They talked to the husband, the wife and the couple’s daughter and found that Wolfe’s husband’s nephew, who has not been identified as of this writing, was staying with them after he returned to Houston, graduating from college. The sheriff says an argument ensued because Wolfe may have “felt that [the nephew] wasn’t welcome” to stay with them anymore.

During the fight, Wolfe grabbed a gun that her husband tried to get away from her, but she fired a shot, hitting the nephew.

Wolfe was booked into the Harris County jail on murder charges.
