Fentanyl dealer from Crosby arrested after 2 people were killed by drugs he distributed

CROSBY, Texas – Authorities have arrested a drug dealer Wednesday morning, accused of selling fentanyl that led to two people’s deaths.

A press release shared by the U.S. Attorney’s Office - Southern District of Texas claims Joshua R. Stebelton, 24, of Crosby is expected to face a judge Wednesday afternoon; hours after he was taken into custody.

His arrest comes after a four-year conspiracy to sell more than 440 grams of fentanyl.

The indictment claims Stebelton faces seven counts of selling fentanyl from Nov. 2020 through June 2023. During that time, court records say the fentanyl he sold killed at least two people in Nov. 2020 and Jan. 2021, respectively.

If he’s convicted, the 24-year-old faces life in prison and a possibly a maximum fee of $10 million.
