Houston mother asks for public’s help after son’s body dumped on Harwin Drive during 2021 winter storm

HOUSTON – A grieving north Houston mother is pleading for the public’s help in bringing those responsible for her son’s death to justice.

Mark Caballero, 20, was shot and killed more than three years ago. His body was later discovered in a dumpster at a shopping strip in the 7200 block of Harwin Drive.

“They didn’t have a heart and they threw him away like a dog,” said Alma Caballero in Spanish.

Caballero said Mark was the oldest of six, and while he made his share of mistakes he did not deserve to be murdered.

“He had a few people in life that shouldn’t have been in his life, but I don’t know how often he together with them,” Caballero said.

Caballero said the Houston Police Department was investigating the case but said no arrests have been made.

“They told us they would keep us informed but up until now they haven’t,” Caballero said.

The Houston Police Department is urging anyone with even the slightest bit of information regarding this case to step forward. You can reach out anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 712-222-8477.
