ROSENBERG, TEXAS – More than three years after an attempted robbery left one man dead, authorities say an additional arrest has been made.

On Sept. 11, 2020, 48-year-old Ramiro Martinez was shot multiple times in his Rosenberg home during an apparent robbery. He died as a result of his injuries.

Investigation into the evidence and circumstances of the crime led police to charge Jorge Castellanos, 32, with capital murder. Martinez was arrested more than a month later after being detained at the U.S./Mexico border.

Thursday, Rosenberg police arrested Irene Deleon Banda—also known as Irene Deleon Martinez—on a capital murder charge in connection with the same crime. It is unclear if she was related to the victim.

She was taken into custody in Bexar County, Texas with a bond set at $750,000.
