Multiple Fort Bend County voters given ballots for incorrect precincts due to redistricting issues

FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas – Multiple Fort Bend County voters were given ballots for the wrong precinct during early voting due to issues regarding 2021 redistricting, Fort Bend County officials said on Monday.

The District Attorney’s Public Integrity Division and Fort Bend County Judge KP George said they learned about the issue last week.

They contacted their local election office, and the issue has since been corrected.

Officials said during redistricting, several houses were incorrectly coded, and this led to the voting issues.

Now, election officials are still reviewing the redistricting changes to ensure voters get the correct ballots.

During the conference, the DA’s office encouraged voters to go online and double check their precinct before they vote.

They also said once people cast their vote it cannot be uncast. Officials encouraged people to reach out to them if they have any issues.
