Man dies after calling his family to tell them he’d been shot in NW Harris County

A man died after he was gunned down on Sunday, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said. (KPRC)

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A man died after he was gunned down on Sunday, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies were called to a gas station in the 10400 block of Veterans Memorial Drive in northwest Harris County at about 1:17 a.m. after a man identified as Cristhian Zelaya was injured in a shooting.

The man was shot at an unknown location, then he drove to the gas station. He called his family to tell them he had been injured, and they contacted authorities.

The victim was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

This shooting is still being investigated.
