2-alarm fire breaks out at Houston Marriott Westchase; no injuries reported

HOUSTON – The Houston Fire Department is investigating after a fire broke out at a hotel in the Westchase area overnight.

The fire was reported just after 10 p.m. Thursday at Houston Marriott Westchase on Briarpark Drive.

Firefighters said they arrived to find heavy smoke and fire on the roof.

More than 140 firefighters assisted with the fire, and officials said it took about an hour to fully put it out.

Guests told KPRC 2 there was smoke on floors 6 and 7 and at the top of the building.

All of the guests were quickly evacuated and, fortunately, no injuries were reported.

At this time, it is unclear what caused the fire.
