And she’s off! Houston business owner heads to the Grammys after USPS mail delivery delays

HOUSTON – Houston small business owner Khaliah Guillory arrived at airport on Wednesday, and United Airlines waived her baggage fees after her business was affected by the USPS mail delivery delays.

Guillory is the founder and CEO behind Nap Bar Houston.

Her small business caught the attention of the Grammys. The awards show then asked her to send her sleep products, and they were supposed to be delivered by USPs by Jan. 13.

However, the packages got stuck and were sitting at the USPS sorting facility in north Houston.

She filed a claim with the postal service, and those packages were later delivered to her.

KPRC 2′s Re’Chelle Turner got Guillory in contact with United Airlines and got her the help she needed. Now, she is taking her products to Los Angeles.

“Talk about a customer experience. This is one that I will never forget and will be attached to my legacy for a lifetime,” Guillory said.

On Tuesday, United States Rep. Al Green met with the postal union, and he said high output package sorters were installed recently, and this coupled with staffing shortages led to the backlog.
