HOUSTON – Houston small-business owner Khaliah O. Guillory will not have to pay for her baggage as she travels to the Grammys, after her business was impacted by the USPS mail delivery delays.

United Airlines released a statement on Tuesday that said the company will sponsor Guillory’s 10 bags while she travels to Los Angeles.

“As Houston’s hometown airline, United is happy to support Khaliah’s journey to the Grammys. Our commitment to the Houston community goes beyond safely flying our customers where they want, when they want. We take pride in showcasing that “Good Leads The Way” by supporting our customers through every aspect of their travel journey. When our team became aware of Khaliah’s unforeseen circumstances and the need to transport her products to Los Angeles, we got in touch and sponsored her bag costs. This recent example exemplifies the exceptional level of customer service that we extend to all who fly United,” said Phil Griffith, Vice President of Airport Operations at United Airlines.

KPRC 2′s Re’Chelle Turner reached out to United Airlines on Monday, and we got her the help she needed.

Guillory is the owner and CEO of Nap Bar, and she previously told Turner that the mail delays cost her thousands of dollars.

Nap Bar is the “first pay-by-the-snooze facility in Texas.” The business’ website goes on to say that they “offer communities and companies onsite and in-suite rest sanctuaries to help reduce sleep deprivation and increase productivity.”

Guillory’s team recently put together a package that was headed for an exhibition at an artist lounge in Los Angeles, but the package never left Texas.

Now, she is traveling on Wednesday to deliver her items to the Grammys, which are on Feb. 4.
