Two deputies were off-duty and working a second job at the bar, and they noticed several people got into an argument.

The deputies helped break up the group, and everyone went outside.

A man then took out a pistol.

A deputy told him to put it down, but he did not obey orders. The deputy then shot him.

The man was later taken to the hospital in critical condition.

This shooting is being investigated.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez asked people to be mindful of the decisions they make during the holidays.

“It the holiday season. It’d be great if people could just celebrate responsibly. It’s just a bad mix to have guns and alcohol involved,” he said.
