The fire department said four dogs were trapped inside the structure upon arrival of the units. The dogs were rescued and given oxygen at the scene using a mask given to the department by the Conroe Kennel Club.
The homeowners were able to get out of the home. One person was taken to a hospital as a precaution.
While fighting the fire, firefighters noticed a Koi pond with a large amount of burned debris inside. They were able to remove the fish from the pond.
The fire department said the dogs are “doing great”.
The home belonged to Vickie Patterson. Patterson is the co-owner of the Magnolia Coffee House and Bistro in Magnolia. A GofundMe has been set up to support Patterson after the fire.
