Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said a vehicle with an unknown number of suspects wearing ski masks pulled up in front of the club.

That group got out of the vehicle, and that was when deputies said they pulled out their guns and started firing at club patrons outside of the club, then fled the scene.

Sheriff Gonzalez said over 50 shots were fired at the parking lot.

Five people (two men and three women) were hit by the gunfire. They were all taken to area hospitals where one of the victims, a man, later died.

The conditions of the other four remain unknown at this time.

Investigators do not have any suspect information. It’s unclear if those individuals were targeted.
