Victim’s identity released after skeletal remains found inside NE Houston abandoned building

HOUSTON – Houston police have learned the identity of a man whose skeletal remains were found inside an abandoned building in the northeast side of town in late April.

The victim has been identified as Randall David Craig, 59.

On April 22, HPD patrol officers responded to an anonymous call regarding skeletal remains found behind a motel in the 8700 block of West Tidwell Road.  Upon arrival, officers checked the area near the motel and found what appeared to be human skeletal remains inside a nearby building.

After obtaining radiographs from the Harris Health System, the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences identified the remains as those of Mr. Craig.  At this time, it is unknown how Craig’s remains wound up in the building.

His cause and manner of death are pending further investigation.
