Welcome home, George family: Dedication ceremony held for KPRC 2’s ninth Houston Habitat for Humanity home

For the ninth year in a row, KPRC 2 has partnered with the Houston Habitat For Humanity to help build homes for deserving families in the area.

We started building the walls right here in the KPRC 2 parking lot back in January. Now, just three months later, the home is ready for a family.

Throughout the build process, the homeowner built with us, putting “sweat equity” on his future home.

Jacoby George certainly put in the effort -- and the sweat -- to make his dream of owning a home come true. The father of the three tells us he’s been waiting eagerly for this special day.

“Came from nothing and now God has blessed me and family with a home and I mean, if I can do it, anybody can do it,” George said.
