According to officers with the Houston Police Department, HPD undercover officers located a vehicle that was believed to be that of the stabbing suspect, who was identified as Victor Castaneda, 50.
Police said they followed the vehicle and when marked units attempted to stop Castaneda, he fled the scene. A short pursuit ensued and officers said they were able to PIT maneuver the suspect’s vehicle.
Castaneda complied with officers and was taken into custody without incident, according to HPD.
The suspect reportedly had a knife on him, however, police said it was unclear if it was the weapon used in the stabbing.
Investigators said Castaneda was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, evading arrest, and detention with vehicle.
Castaneda’s criminal record extends as far back as 2002. According to Department of Public Safety records, he has been charged with indecent exposure four times and failure to register as a sex offender twice. Castaneda has also been charged with resisting arrest and trespassing.
