FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas – On the anniversary of the first confirmed case of COVID-19 in Fort Bend County, Judge KP George lowered the county’s COVID-19 risk level from orange to yellow during Friday’s news conference.
Since the pandemic, Fort Bend County has reported more than 135,000 confirmed cases of the coronavirus, according to a news release. The county stated that 87% residents 5 years old and up have received at least one dose of the vaccine and 77% are fully vaccinated against the virus. Of the 65 and up age group, 99% have received at least one dose and 97% are fully vaccinated.

George also encouraged residents to continue to get fully vaccinated as it helps stop the spread of the virus.
