Elderly woman dragged out of own bed by burglars, pistol-whipped, police say

HOUSTON – An elderly woman was dragged out of her own bed by two men as they were burglarizing her home, Houston police said.

Police said it happened around 1:45 p.m. Jan. 25 in the 6000 block of Myrtle Lane when two Hispanic men entered the woman's residence by breaking in through one of the side doors of the house.

The men drug her out of bed, forced her on her feet and forcibly escorted her into the kitchen. One of the man pistol-whipped her while the other ransacked the house for valuable items, officials said.

Investigators said the men took items from the home and fled.

Police give the descriptions for the men as" 

  • Suspect 1: Hispanic male, 20 to 21 years old, 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, 160 to 170 pounds, green eyes, wearing black pants and gray hoodie.
  • Suspect 2: Hispanic male, 20 to 21 years old, 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, 160 to 170 pounds, brown eyes, wearing black pants and a black shirt.
