Car goes airborne, crashes into apartment patio

HOUSTON – Apartment residents were given a scare after a car went airborne and landed on a patio.

According to authorities, the driver was traveling at a high rate of speed when he crashed around 12:15 a.m. Tuesday near Town Park Drive and Ranchester Drive.

The driver lost control of the vehicle, struck an embankment at an apartment, went airborne, flipped over and crashed into the cinder block wall of a downstairs apartment, officers said.

When police arrived, they found a man and woman in the vehicle, both of whom were transported to a hospital with minor injuries.

No residents of the complex were injured and the car did not go through any walls, authorities said.

Police are investigating to find out who was driving and if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
