Killeen fire captain killed in crash, just after welcoming fifth child
Killeen Fire Captain Marvin Taylor III (City of Killeen)
KILLEEN, Texas – A fire captain in a Central Texas city was killed in a car crash Sunday morning, immediately after he welcomed his fifth child.
The City of Killeen says Fire Captain Marvin Taylor III left an Austin hospital after welcoming his fifth child and was headed to pick up his other kids when a vehicle slammed into his car from behind. Taylor died in the crash.
“He was a highly respected and decorated member of our Fire Department, serving since 2014 and most recently assigned to the Training Division,” the City of Killeen said on Facebook.
The city said Captain Taylor was known for his dedication, leadership, and countless deployments with Texas A&M Task Force 1 and TIFMAS.
“He will be remembered not only for his service, but for the impact he made on those around him,” the city said.
