THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Two people were killed Friday and another was hospitalized after a shooting and fiery crash in The Woodlands, according to Montgomery County officials.
Around 4 p.m., officials said shots were fired at an office building in the Grogans Mill Village Center.
Deputies said the shooter left the scene in a vehicle and went southbound on Grogans Mill Road. He later crashed a half-mile from where the deadly shooting scene took place and died.
He was identified as 63-year-old John Williams.
At the office, one person was shot to death and another was taken to an area hospital with blunt force trauma injuries. The deceased victim was identified as 54-year-old Brent Brock, according to deputies.
The person with blunt force trauma is expected to survive their injuries.
Deputies said the shooting stemmed from a "personal matter" and there is no additional threat to the public.
Michael Zepeda caught the moments following the crash on camera, not knowing the scene was connected to the deadly shooting less than a mile away.
"The fire was popping and shooting out flames and stuff like that," Zepeda said.
At the crash scene, a mangled vehicle was seen in the middle of the road.
Late into the night, several deputies surrounded the office building where the shooting took place.
Outside the building, workers who were inside at the time couldn’t believe what happened.
"My co-worker called me right then and there and said there was an active shooter in the building, so to run," Meredith Pursell said.
