Surveillance video shows moment passenger was shot in head

HOUSTON – Surveillance video from a north Harris County business shows the moment a man was shot in the head and critically injured. Three children and another man in the car were uninjured, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

The shooting was reported about 10:15 a.m. in front of the Advance Auto Parts store on F.M. Road 1960 at Ella Boulevard.

Investigators said the victim was a passenger in a vehicle that was attempting to make a left-hand turn. Another car drove up beside the victim's vehicle and someone fired into it, striking the passenger. The driver and three toddlers in the back seat were not hurt, officials said.

The man was taken to the nearby Houston Northwest Medical Center where he is in critical condition.

Video from SKY 2 showed deputies had a section of FM Road 1960 blocked and several evidence markers were on the road. SKY 2 also showed several deputies at the hospital.

Gonzalez said deputies are searching the area for the vehicle involved in the shooting, described as an older-model gray or silver Grand Marquis with a black hood. 



No other injuries were reported.
