Man charged in shooting death of wife may be on way to Mexico, police say

HOUSTON – Houston police are searching for a man they said shot his wife to death on Monday.

Police said Jose Angel Martinez-Espinosa, 45, is charged with murder in the shooting death of his wife, 40-year-old Ninfa Macias Martinez, at their home at 8132 Ogden St.

Macias Martinez was shot multiple times, and her body was found inside the home. Police said a family friend made the discovery late in the day, but they believe the shooting happened in the morning.

Martinez-Espinosa is believed to be driving a black 2006 Nissan Altima with paper license plates, according to police. Police said he could be fleeing to Mexico.
