Pedestrian struck, killed by tractor-trailer in northeast Houston, officials say

HOUSTON – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer Sunday night in northeast Houston, officials said.

The crash was reported at 8:28 p.m. at 14300 Lee Road.

Officials said the driver of a white 2012 Peterbilt Bobtail was traveling north in the far right lane when a light-colored sedan traveling north swerved into the right lane, causing the Peterbilt to swerve left. At the same time, officials said a man was illegally crossing Lee Road from west to east and the Peterbilt struck and killed him.

The identity of the victim has not been released.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office Vehicular Crimes Division is investigating the crash. No charges have been filed.
