Police searching for driver who they say hit a man, fled the scene

HOUSTON – Police are searching for the driver of a white PT Cruiser after a man was hit in north Houston early Friday morning.

According to police, the accident happened around 12:30 a.m. when a homeless man pushing a shopping cart along the feeder road near I-45 the North Freeway and Patton was struck by the car, causing him to go airborne.

The driver of the Pt Cruiser never stopped, and fled from the scene, police said. 

According to authorities, the victim suffered broken bones and other injuries but is expected to survive.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
