Man arrested, accused of stabbing woman several times during attack in La Porte No description found
LA PORTE, Texas – A woman was seriously injured Wednesday when she was repeatedly stabbed during an attack at her La Porte home, police said.
The attack happened about 2 a.m. at a home in the 10800 block of Dogwood Drive.
Police said the woman heard her dogs barking and was investigating when a man wearing a hooded sweatshirt stabbed her several times. Police have arrested 21-year-old Cassius Lorenzo Collins, of La Porte, and charged him with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Investigators believe the attack was not random and that Collins has "family ties" to the victim.
Though the woman suffered serious injuries, she is expected to survive.
