Special election for late Councilman Larry Green's seat set for May 5

HOUSTON – A special election for the late Houston City Councilman Larry Green will take place on May 5.
The City Council announced the date for the District K election during Wednesday’s meeting, saying the law requires the election within 120 days of the vacancy.
Green was found dead Tuesday by officers conducting a welfare check at his home.
The councilman represented District K for more than six years.
Funeral arrangements have yet to be announced.
