HOUSTON – H-E-B announced Thursday a new store location in Meyerland Plaza that will open in the fall of 2019.
The new grocery store, located on the northwest corner of Meyerland Plaza, will be two stories with a parking structure and elevator on the lower level, and shopping and a sky bridge to JC Penney on the second level.
The building will also house a BBVA Compass Bank.
The company previously said it would not reopen its former Meyerland location at Chimney Rock Rd. and S. Braeswood after it was severely damaged from Hurricane Harvey flooding. This new store will replace the old location.
"H-E-B is committed to Meyerland and stands by this community as it rebuilds from Hurricane Harvey's devastating floods,” Cyndy Garza Roberts, H-E-B Public Affairs, said. "We look forward to serving our Meyerland neighbors in a bigger and better way."
H-E-B said the new store will include:
- Kosher Bakery
- Meal Simple Offering
- Cooking Connection
- Large Beer and Wine Department
Construction will begin in the first quarter of 2019 with completion scheduled for that fall.
