Gunman damages Chachos restaurant, opens fire at police

HOUSTON – Some Houston police officers were forced to take cover after someone opened fire outside a restaurant, investigators said.

Police said a customer got upset and damaged property at the Chacho's in the 2700 block of South Loop.

Restaurant employees called police. When officers arrived, the customer drove by and fired six or seven shots, police said.

One of the bullets hit a police vehicle, according to investigators. 

The shooter got away in a white vehicle.

No one was injured.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Houston Police Department.
