HOUSTON – DNA evidence in a 19-year-old sexual assault case was found Wednesday in the Houston Forensic Science Center.

Officials with the HFSC said it was found in a former staff member's office.

Officials said the employee analyzed the evidence in 2005. The evidence included bloodstained cards, biological material and DNA extracts.

The evidence is connected to the sexual assault of a nursing home resident.

An employee at the nursing home pleaded guilty to the crime.

According to the HFSC, no other evidence has been found in the former staff member's office.
