Man charged with murder after shooting wife, killing bystander faces judge

HOUSTON – A man charged in the shooting death of a mother in northwest Harris County faced a judge Monday.

James Hickam, 58, is charged with murder.

His bond was set at $100,000.

He's accused of shooting and injuring his wife during an argument and then shooting and killing an innocent bystander -- 26-year-old Krystle Watson.

Deputies said Watson was dropping off her 2-year-old child at a relative's house at the time of the shooting, and she died in front of the toddler.
