Restaurant Report Card: Honoring Houston's hardest-working restaurants

HOUSTON – In Thursday night's Restaurant Report Card, we are serving up a celebration of all things clean and healthy.

For the first time, we are honoring Houston’s hardest-working restaurants with the brand-new Bill Spencer Restaurant Report Card's, A-Plus  Award.

And we begin at Cyclone Anaya’s Mexican Kitchen in Rice Village.
Located on Morningside Drive, this is where the Houston Health Department found zero violations.
That’s what I said, zero!

The restaurant earned a perfect restaurant inspection report, which is very hard to do.

This Tex-Mex standout was created by the world famous, professional wrestler Cyclone Anaya back in 1966.

And one of it's most-famous dishes is the crab nacho plate.

“Oh it’s good, with a blue tortilla, sautéed corn, onions and a fresh lump of crab meat on top. It’s to die for," said Frank Alvarado, the general manager.

Cyclone Anaya’s Rice Village wins our A-Plus award for cleanliness, an award it plan to hang on its wall for all to see.

Are salads and sandwiches your thing?

At Mary O’s Café at 1977 Butler Blvd. they specialize in ultra-healthy Mediterranean salads and fresh-made sandwiches.

The restaurant will also cater your event. Mary O's too scored our A-Plus Award for running a spotless establishment.

“Thank you Bill, I really appreciate it. This means so much and it’s an honor," said Rami Khalil, owner of Mary O’s.

How about a hearty breakfast?

Harry’s Restaurant And Café on Tuam has been serving up delicious omelets and one-of-a-kind, signature dishes since 1948.

It offers tasty delights like the Churrasco Plate.

“Oh it’s got eggs with a beef skirt and a cheese potatoes patty and a spicy, Latin peanut sauce,"  said Zoi Platsas of Harry’s

Harry’s Restaurant and Café is the third winner of the A-Plus Award.

“On behalf of my entire family and my boys, thank you very, very much," said Mr. Harry, as he looked adoringly at his wife and family gathered around him.
