HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A burglary call led to a deputy-involved shooting Thursday evening in northwest Harris County, officials said.
Authorities responded around 5:30 p.m. to reports of a burglary at a woman's apartment at 11201 Veterans Memorial Drive.
Investigators said the woman knew the man who broke into her apartment through mutual acquaintances.
Deputies said she told them the man might be at Wolife's restaurant.
Deputies attempted to question a man who matched the description of the person who broke into the apartment, according to deputies.
The man ran from deputies, who tired to use a Taser to stop him, officials said.
According to deputies, the man, who was not injured got into a red Camaro and drove toward the deputies who were following him.
Officials said one of the deputies shot twice at the moving vehicle. No one was injured.
The man got away.
