UPDATE Jan. 1, 2026 7:13 a.m. | Both deputies have been released from the hospital, the Harris County Pct. 4 Constable’s Office said Thursday morning.

Authorities said the suspect has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault on a police officer and felony evading.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas - Two deputies from the Harris County Pct. 4 Constable’s Office were injured after being struck by a suspected intoxicated driver who was fleeing from law enforcement on New Year’s Eve.

The Harris County Pct. 4 Constable’s Office said the incident began in the 20000 block of Kenswick Drive, where the suspect struck a constable’s patrol vehicle before fleeing the scene. A pursuit began and the suspect tried to evade deputies.

During the pursuit, two deputies were struck by the suspect. The suspect then rammed into another patrol vehicle in the 21600 block of Dawn Timbers Court.

The suspect was apprehended and authorities say he displayed multiple signs of intoxication.

EMS responded to the scene and transported one of the deputies to the hospital. The other deputy’s condition is being assessed.
