CONROE, Texas – A Conroe police officer shot a man to death on Monday, according to police.
Authorities also said a 52-year-old woman was found dead inside the residence. She was dead before the officer shot 25-year-old Joseph William Alain to death, according to investigators.
When officers arrived at a residence on Hildred Avenue near Thompson Road around 1:35 p.m. to investigate reports of a domestic disturbance, they heard the disturbance inside the residence, authorities said. When officers entered the residence, a woman ran out and away from officers.
Inside the residence, officers confronted Alain who pointed a handgun at them, according to police. One officer, a 13-year veteran of the force, shot the Alain twice, according to authorities. The 25-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

Searching the residence, officers found a dead 52-year-old woman inside the residence. Authorities said the woman was dead before officers arrived.
They also found a 5-year-old boy, according to authorities.
Denise Russell was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said she is believed to be the grandmother of the child found at the residence.
Police said the woman who fled the scene is believed to be the mother of the boy.
