LA MARQUE, Texas – Police are investigating after a disturbance resulted in a shooting at a la Marque convenience store.

Officials said police responded to reports of a shooting on FM 1765 and Lake Road around 9:38 Tuesday.

En route to the shooting, they were also notified of a wrecked vehicle in the parking lot of a school in the 100 block of Lake Road.

Officials said they spotted the vehicle in the school parking lot and an injured person inside the Circle T store across the street from the school.

That man had several gunshot wounds to his arms and torso, and was taken to Mainland Medical and then transported by Life Flight to Clear Lake Regional Medial Center, where he later died.

Investigators said it appears that the man was in a fight with three other people at a different location prior to the incident. The disturbance moved to Circle T's convenience store at 2435 FM 1765, investigators said.

The victim was shot as he was sitting in his vehicle, and the shooter fled south on Lake Road, police said.

The victim left the vehicle in the parking lot and made it to the Circle T, where he collapsed.

Anyone with information is asked to contact La Marque Police Department Detective Arredondo, or the La Marque Crime Stoppers.
