Food truck employee shot to death for refusing to hand over earnings, police said

HOUSTON – Houston Police Department and Crime Stoppers are offering a reward for information leading to the arrest of two suspects who murdered Thomas Cox on Jan. 28.

Cox was closing at Taqueria El Alazan food truck at 7700 Alemeda Genoa near Telephone Road when two unknown black men shot him several times.

The two men described to be came behind the employee and demanded that he hand over his earnings from the night, police said.

According to authorities, the man refused to hand over his cash, so the men shot him several times.

The two men fled in a 1995-2005 black vehicle similar to a Toyota Camry, officials said. 

Suspect 1 is described as a black male, mid 20s, approximately 140-160 lbs, 5'6"-5'8" wearing a dark colored sweatshirt, dark colored shirt with a Nike logo, Light colored pants and light colored shoes. 

Suspect 2 is described as a black male, mid 20s, approximately 140-160 lbs, 5'6"-5'8" wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, brown jacket, white shirt, dark colored pants and light colored shoes. 

Crime Stoppers is offering up to $5,000 for information in this case.
