Daughter released, son arrested in Montgomery County 'honor killings' case


MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas – There are some new developments in a local case on Friday, and it's a story that made headlines around the world.

The news is about the Montgomery County family charged in what investigators call the "honor killings."

Nadia Irsan, daughter of Ali Irsan, is out of jail on bond, but her brother, Nile Irsan, was arrested for having a prohibited substance in a correctional facility, according to jail records.

Prosecutors charged Nadia for her role in some of her father's alleged murders.

Ali is accused of killing his other daughter's husband and her best friend.

Ali claimed the two encouraged his daughter to leave their family's Muslim faith.

His wife and son are also charged in the murders.

Nadia is accused of stalking her sister.
