LADY LAKE, Fla. – A woman was arrested Tuesday in Sumter County for multiple charges when she was accused of drinking five beers in a Walmart beer aisle and assaulting an emergency management technician after she was handcuffed, deputies said.
According to the arrest report, Shellby Conder, 18, told the Walmart manager in the Villages that she drank five cans of beer from the beer aisle and was drunk. She also told the manager she needed a ride home, the report states.
Conder told deputies that she was drunk when she approached them outside of the store bathroom, according to the report.
She then told deputies that “she drank beer from the beer aisle and wanted to go home,” the report said.
When deputies tried to place Conder under arrest, the report states that she resisted and pulled away from deputies.
Deputies placed Conder on the ground and were able to arrest her.
Conder then kicked another deputy in the leg while being handcuffed, and as she was being evaluated by paramedics, she grabbed someone by the testicles, according to the report.
Deputies were then able to place Conder into the patrol vehicle.
According to the report, while Conder was in the patrol vehicle, she told deputies, “I’m sorry to who I hit.”
Conder is being held on $15,500 bond and is charged with battery on a officer, larceny petit theft and resisting officer with violence.
