HOUSTON – A total of 150 firefighters worked Wednesday to get control of a massive fire at a house in northwest Harris County.
Officials said the home in the 6500 block of North Eldridge also served as a furniture business, which gave the flames more fuel.

Because of windy conditions and a lack of fire hydrants in the area, firefighters had a hard time extinguishing the flames.
The homeowners got out of the house safely before emergency crews arrived.
A firefighter for the Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department was taken to the hospital as a precaution after falling, officials said.
A storage unit behind the home business also caught fire, firefighters said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
