HOUSTON – A 23-year-old man is facing robbery and theft charges after police said he stole wine and cash from Walgreens and ran from a taxi cab without paying on Oct. 11.
Paul Anthony Baze is accused of entering the Walgreens in the 480 block of Sawdust Road around 2:35 a.m., grabbed some wine and then demanded money from a store employee. Baze then left the store on a scooter, according to a witness. Police were not able to find him near the scene at that time.

Later that day, around 10 p.m., Baze is accused of getting a taxi ride from 2100 Main Street to an apartment complex in the 10500 block of Six Pines Driver in The Woodlands. Upon arrival, the taxi driver said two of Baze's credit cards were declined for the transaction. According to reports, Baze then ran from the scene without paying for the ride.
Police were able to find Baze a short time later and arrested him for theft of service. Police were also able to identify Baze as the Walgreens robbery suspect from earlier in the day.
