Faulty air conditioner blamed for northeast Houston house fire

HOUSTON – Houston firefighters were called around 9:45 p.m. Tuesday to a house fire in northeast Houston.

The fire broke out at a home in the 11000 block of Tamworth.

Investigators said the residents were on vacation at the time of the fire. 

Firefighters said an electrical short in the air conditioner caused the fire.

Damage to the home was minimal, officials said.
