Police search for fugitive connected to sex assault of child

CONROE, Texas – Montgomery County deputies are looking for a man in connection with a sexual assault case in Conroe.

"Rex" Rexhep Rraci, 20, is a fugitive charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child. Deputies with the Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable's Office want to talk to him but can’t find him. Deputies said he was considered a person of interest in the sexual assault of a 14-year old female jogger on Lake Woodlands Parkway near Shadowbend Place.

When it happened, on Jan. 5, deputies swarmed the area.  Then on Jan. 15, deputies released photos of two persons of interest. Since then, they say they have talked with 27-year-old Mark Allen Greeley.  But they still wanted to talk with Rraci.

"I still feel like we are safe here.  I just tell my kids to go places in pairs ... and to go places together,” said Amy Scott, resident.  She told KPRC 2, "I feel like it does make us more aware to be safe...even in our own neighborhoods.  Cause things like this can happen in our own backyard."

Rraci’s family has been in the news before.  His dad, a chef and restaurant owner, Dine “Dino” Rraci, was convicted on weapons charges.  The attorney who handled that case did not have a comment about the search for Rex.

If you know where to find Rex Rraci, please call the Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office at 281-364-4211.
