WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE, Texas – One thief with a holiday target of packages on front porches turns out to be very particular about what he steals. He takes everything but returns what he doesn't want.
West University police said they are looking for a man who rode his bike down Arbuckle and stole some packages near the front door of a house. Cameras recorded the whole incident.
"It appears a bicyclist dressed in what would be considered bike gear spandex and clip-on shoes and happened to be driving by and just saw a package that he wanted so he stopped and took the package," West University police officer Phil Clark said.
But apparently he wasn't pleased with everything he stole and returned some of the items.
"At this point, he opens the packages and removes items and I guess didn't want some of the items and replaced some of the packages back on the porch, but kept some things and got back on his bike and rode off," Clark said.
Officers said the man on the bike, who was wearing a helmet and biking shorts, kept some books including, "Lessons of History," but returned a soap dispenser.
If the man is caught, he could be charged with theft and trespassing.
