Former teacher charged, accused of sexting, harassing female student

Victim claims she was as young as 16

HUMBLE, Texas – A former teacher with the Humble Independent School District has been charged with having an improper relationship with a student.

Court documents show 28-year-old Armando Garza began the relationship with the girl around January 2015.  He repeatedly sent text messages, Snapchat messages, photos and making phone calls to the victim, now 17.

By May, the girl decided to end the relationship, realizing it was not appropriate. However, she said Garza continued to harass her.

It escalated in October when, she said, Garza followed her in her car after visiting a restaurant with her boyfriend. Shortly after, she alerted her mother who then told authorities.

School district officials sent a letter home to parents notifying them of the alleged relationship.

Humble ISD has since fired Garza. He was booked into the Harris County jail with bail set at $10,000.
